Lasik Eye Surgery
Lasik Vision Correction Will Improve Your Life

Lasik eye surgery has emerged, during recent years, as an incredible alternative to a life of contacts or glasses. While, at first Lasik vision correction was determined to have high patient qualifiers to meet, the growing technology and procedures have allowed for a changing of guidelines making it safe for people with many vision problems to successful receive close to perfect vision with Lasik vision correction.

Vision patients are often plagued with a variety of problems starting with the first eye exam diagnosis of a problem with their vision. For some this is at a relatively young age and for others as they grow older. For those young patients, many deal with a childhood of ridicule as they wear glasses, have problems in school and coordination.

They then move on to adulthood and try to work with contacts, often through trial and error, and go on to deal with the lifelong expense of eye exams, contacts, glasses, maintenance supplies and potential additional eye health problems as they grow older.

For older patients, they often have to try to acclimate to vision correction aids. This can make them feel as if they are re-learning everyday tasks, like driving, reading and even applying makeup, all to work around the hassle of contacts or glasses.

Those who suffer from allergies, dry eyes, work in manufacturing or other industrial jobs and diabetes patients are then faced with a whole host of other problems. All of this combined can make a vision correction patient frustrated and depressed over their situation. When Lasik vision correction entered the picture, this all changed.

Lasik offers relief from all the problems mentioned. With successful Lasik, an individual no longer has to wear contacts or glasses and thus loses the expense, hassle and worry of vision correction. Lasik often results in such an incredible difference in sight, patients have better night, reading and overall vision even over their quality of vision with vision correction aids.

With the innovative technology of Lasik vision correction and the growing numbers of eye professionals trained for these procedures, in just a few minutes a patient can go from decades of glasses or contacts to amazing, clear vision. For many, this truly is a life changing experience.

In 2006, a study was done that concluded that contact wearers are at a greater risk for infection than individuals who have had Lasik vision correction. In the past 10 years, over 3 million people have experienced the benefits of Lasik with nearly perfect results. Would you like to be one of them? Best Eye Cream For Dark Circles,
Puffiness and Fine Line

One of the most common signs of ageing, lack of sleep, and stress is the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles. No-one wants to look old, especially if it means looking older than you actually are!

The good news is that there are treatments in the form of creams that we can use to improve the skin around our eyes and get rid of fine lines and dark puffy skin that make us look worn down. What I believe to be the best eye cream will be discussed a little later in this article. Firstly, let's talk about a couple of other methods that are sometimes recommended.

We often hear about well-balanced diets and healthy lifestyles, including eating well and drinking plenty of water, as the key to our well being. Although this of course helps our body overall, we want to target the eyes specifically. Obviously, lack of sleep can certainly affect the way our eyes look so the first thing is to get your 8 hours.

One method that you may well have heard of is using cool tea bags and cucumber slices, but how does it work? Well, the purpose of the cucumber is to reduce puffiness and refresh the skin, whilst the tannin from the cool tea bags aims to reduce the discoloration and swelling around the eyes. As you can imagine, this method does take a bit of preparation time, plus there are better alternatives such as using eye creams.

With the health and beauty industry being so large there are a number of creams that are available, but like anything else there are some good and some bad. Revitol is an excellent cream that freshens around the eyes, tones, and makes the skin supple. This results in reducing dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles to bring back that youthful look.

A lot of women will tend to use concealer to cover up their tired looking eyes, but of course this is only covering up the problem temporarily. However, the best eye cream, Revitol, effectively gets rid of the evident signs of ageing and lack of sleep.

Cost of LASIK Eye Surgery - What You Should Know

Choosing your eye surgeon is important as the better qualified, trained, certified and experienced the surgeon,...The cost of the procedure is based on the cost of supplies, staff salaries, the doctors' fee, the equipment and other costs.***

Cost of LASIK Eye Surgery
- What You Should Know

LASIK eye surgery is still emerging, but has made vision and life better for millions of people. Those with vision problems and correction aids can be freed from those shackles with LASIK surgery. But, before you go under the laser it's important to understand all the aspects of LASIK surgery including: which doctor to choose, how the procedure will go and the cost of LASIK surgery.

Choosing your eye surgeon is important as the better qualified, trained, certified and experienced the surgeon, the better your procedure, pre- and post-operative treatments and overall experience will go. Don't be afraid to ask for references and proof of training and certifications.

During a pre-operative evaluation, the eye surgeon will give you an eye exam used to help determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. This is determined based on your overall eye health, vision corrective issues and overall health as some conditions, like diabetes, can affect your eligibility.

When considering the cost of LASIK eye surgery there are many factors to consider and questions to ask your eye surgeon. The cost of the procedure is based on the cost of supplies, staff salaries, the doctors' fee, the equipment and other costs.

Ask the eye surgeon you're considering, to be honest with you about the costs and pricing. Be wary if they are receiving a large bonus for each procedure from the LASIK equipment manufacturer, as this tends to turn doctors away from personal service and toward getting as many people through the procedure as possible for higher bonuses.

The cost of LASIK eye surgery is definitely a deciding factor when considering LASIK surgery but remember, cost goes hand in hand with quality of service and after care. Sometimes the cheapest price available could really be offering a terrible experience and potential vision problems down the road from an inexperienced eye surgeon. For more in-depth knowledge about the costs and pricing of LASIK eye surgery, contact your local ophthalmologists association or state medical board.

In 2006, a study was done that concluded that contact wearers are at a greater risk for infection than individuals who have had Lasik eye surgery. Do Eye Exercises Actually Work?

Do Eye Exercises Actually Work?

Perhaps you've heard that you should exercise your eyes so your eye muscles won't get weak. But is there any foundation behind these claims? What are eye exercises? Are there any benefits in performing them?

Eye exercises involve rotation of the eyeballs. Basic exercises include movements like looking all the way up, then all the way down, to the right and to the left. You are also advised to rotate your eyes clockwise and then counterclockwise.

On one hand it makes sense. These movements keep the muscles moving and cause them to stretch and contract. On the other hand these eye muscles are not designed to do all this stuff. Their primary function is to accommodate the shape of the eyeball.

The proponents of the eye exercises claim that you became nearsighted or farsighted because "you are not using your muscles", "your eye muscles became weak" and other similar reasons. In fact the opposite is true. You became nearsighted because a certain group of extraocular muscles became too tense and this tension became chronic. Chronic tension changed the shape of your eyeball, in case of myopia or nearsightedness your eyeball became elongated, in case of hyperopia or farsightedness the eyeball became too short. People with normal vision have a round eyeball.

Another reason to consider is that these eye muscles are much stronger than needed so all this talk about weak muscles is unfounded.

Your muscles became tensed on the verge of paralysis. So the thing to do, in order to relieve the anomaly of refraction that you have, is to relax or somehow alleviate this tension. This involves mental control that is very difficult to master but it is possible.

So while eye exercises will certainly do you no harm, there are no actual benefits in them either. It is much better to learn some relaxation techniques and correct visual habits. One of them is to turn your head in whatever direction you are looking rather than just turn your eyes only.

That said there is one exercise that does seem to have a positive effect on vision. It is near-far swing. Basically it involves looking at the far object and then at some close object. You can also look at anything in between. Do not strain while doing it and make sure you blink often and don't hold your breath. You should have glimpses of improved vision.

Eye Fashion - Seeing the World With New Eyes

The eyes are the windows to your soul so it basically makes sense to make sure that you give the world the best view possible. The eyes have always been a key point in fashion and why shouldn't it be? A person's clothes and outer appearance has the ability to attract attention but it's always the eyes that make you stare and want to get to know the person more.

With the eyes playing such an important part in one's beauty, it then makes sense that a lot of effort is being put into 'beautifying' your eyes.

Here are a few tips that you could use to give your eyes that extra glow.

Simple Tips That You Can Do At Home

Tired, droopy eyes are always a no-no and you can do something really simple to brighten your eyes. Don't be fooled by the usual cucumber trick - cucumbers have a soothing effect on eyes that does not really last. You can achieve the same effect, even better, by popping a spoon into the fridge for a couple of minutes. Then place the spoon on your eye, making sure that you do not press deeply. Eyes are sensitive and the skin around them is prone to wrinkles so make sure that you handle your eyes cautiously. For a minute or two, just relax and let the cool spoon soothe your tired eyes and - voila - perky, expressive eyes in an instant.

You could also look for eye mask with gels in them. The concept is basically the same, just place the mask inside the fridge and once it's cool enough, you can wear it and let it soothe tired, red eyes. This also helps you eliminate eye bags and those dark under eye circles. Of course, nothing beats sleep so make sure that you also get proper sleep.

Popular Eye Fashion

You don't have to settle with just boring eye shadows anymore. You can use a variety of things to basically 'dress up' your eyes. From wearing false eyelashes, having your eyebrows tattoed or wearing contact lenses, there are so many options that you can choose from.

False eyelashes are popular these days and have been made to suit your needs. You can wear something that looks as natural and believable as normal eyelashes or you could choose to wear false eyelashes in more interesting ways. There are colored eyelashes, eyelashes with gems and stones in them and fake eyelashes in varying lengths and texture. It is very easy to wear false eyelashes now these days and with so many options to choose from, it is very easy to play around with them and see what suits you and your mood best.

Now you can also play around with your eye color. Keep people guessing about your true eye color and even surprise them with a few interesting colored contacts. Colored contact lenses that are safe for everyday use are popular these days. Just make sure that you take proper good care of them so you prevent any eye infections as well as make sure that these contact lenses last you a long time. If you are looking for something new in your look, wearing contact lenses might just be your answer.

So go ahead, view the world in a different way now.

Laser Cosmetic Eye Surgery : The Marvels of Light

Laser Cosmetic Eye Surgery : The Marvels of Light

Lasik eye surgery can provide good vision

One of the first things which we notice about a person's face is the eyes. We even say that we see a person's soul through them. Therefore, their health and functioning should always be maintained as sight is also one of our most important senses. Having problems with vision is a burden for many people.

Although the eyes and vision can easily be aided through eyeglasses or contact lenses, it still is far from having normal vision. Today however, laser cosmetic eye surgery is giving these individuals new hope and look forward to days where they never have to worry about broken glasses or torn contact lenses.

The most common form of laser cosmetic eye surgery today is LASIK. It stands for laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis.

It is a simple procedure which involves the use of laser beams to remove the cornea and remodel the tissue underneath it. This improves the manner at which light is refracted which is the common cause of astigmatism, near sightedness and far-sightedness.
The procedure can be accomplished at the clinic and does not require confinement afterwards. This laser cosmetic eye surgery can be over in 20 minutes and the patient can go home. Recovery period is also shorter and can last for only 3-4 days.
Compared to cosmetic laser eye surgery methods that came before it, LASIK causes only minor discomforts. For these, the doctor can give eye drops for relief.

Since it is commonly used nowadays, lasik cosmetic eye surgery has undergone a lot of improvements in the past years. A more improved form, which is also fast gaining popularity is Epi-LASIK or Epithelial Laser In-Situ Keratomileusis. It combines the benefits of previously used laser cosmetic eye surgery techniques and offers a much shorter recovery period. The procedure is basically the same but it does not make use of any alcohol solution to remove the cornea.

LASIK is one laser cosmetic eye surgery that has also proven itself effective for a number of eye conditions aside from the common astigmatism, near sightedness and far sightedness today.
It has also helped diabetics with retinopathy restore their eyesight. Older people with age related macular degeneration have been helped through this procedure. This involves using laser beams to break the cataract into small pieces. They are then removed by suction. After recovery, the cataracts are sure not to return so it becomes a permanent solution to this common eye disorder.

There are a lot of things to consider and to be discussed with your doctor before you undergo laser cosmetic eye surgery such as LASIK, as every medical procedure comes with its own set of benefits and potential risks.

After the procedure, a common discomfort is increased light sensitivity and blurred vision along with some minor pains. These are normal and the doctor can simply give oral medication or eye drops to relieve them. They should clear up in a matter of days after which one can go back to his normal routine.

Before your doctor recommends any form of laser cosmetic eye surgery for you, he will conduct a thorough examination of your eyes first. From there, he will determine which form or procedure is best for your case. It is not you who will dictate which laser cosmetic eye surgery you would go through.

Your age also determines whether you are a potential candidate for laser cosmetic eye surgery. It is not an option for individuals younger than 20 and older than 50. Younger people have eyes that are still developing while older people may have more serious eye problems that are beyond the help of laser surgery.
Carefully understand and discuss everything with your doctor - laser cosmetic eye surgery may just be the procedure that will give you a lasting healthy, normal vision.

Laser Cosmetic Eye Surgery for the Windows to Your Soul

Laser Cosmetic Eye Surgery for
the Windows to Your Soul

Lasik eye surgery can provide good vision

Certain factors such as stress, exposure to sunlight, cigarette smoke and pollution and age can all affect the way our eyes and the area around it look. Heavy eye bags, wrinkles and loose or droopy skin around the eyes can be unsightly and may make you look older than your real age. For these, the application of creams around the area may not simply work. Blurred vision due to conditions like astigmatism, near sightedness and far sightedness can be a burden to a lot of people too. Wearing eyeglasses or being highly dependent on contact lenses can be cumbersome. If you are serious about changing these problems, you might want to try laser cosmetic eye surgery.

A common problem is drooping eyelids. An option for this is blepharoplasty or eyelift. This is one of the most common cosmetic procedures done on the face. It can be done on the upper or lower eyelid, depending on where the patient needs it. Most commonly addressed problems involving the upper eyelids are droopiness and puffiness.

For the lower eyelids, the common problem is the presence of fat deposits. These make the eye look tired and in some cases, people even find it difficult to apply make up on these problem areas. They can also have an effect on vision since drooping eyelids can block the eyes. It can also lead to further development of wrinkles around the eyes.

These procedures however, do not correct crow's feet or wrinkles around the eyes. These may require separate surgical procedures.

Laser eye surgery is also not just performed for aesthetic or cosmetic reasons. They also work in correcting eye problems involving vision.

Common vision problems arise from distortions on the surface of the cornea affecting the way light is refracted. To correct this, laser eye surgery is formed, usually in the form of LASIK, which stands for laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis. Another procedure is photorefractive keratectomy or PRK. These procedures involve lifting the cornea and using laser beams to re-shape the tissue underneath it. These procedures are quick and patients have reported only minor stinging during the procedure. After this, the patient will have to wear soft and thin contact lenses for protection.

The recovery period is also shorter and the person can go back to his normal activities in a matter of days.

Laser cosmetic eye surgery is considerably low risk and can be done in a very short time, sometimes even at the doctor's office only. However, the eyes are such sensitive parts of the body so better ask the doctor for possible side effects and after effects once the procedure is done.

Some common complaints after laser cosmetic eye surgery procedures are increased sensitivity to light and some pain. These normally clear up in a matter of days and should they persist for more than 4 days, the doctor must be consulted.

Medication is often given to counter potential infections. These medications can be taken orally or in the form of eye drops. Scarring is also a potential problem and should be addressed immediately since it can also lead to loss of vision.

People of ages 20 to 50 are good candidates for laser cosmetic eye surgery. Younger people have eyes that are still undergoing development and people older than 50 may have developed more serious eye diseases.

Do not hesitate to ask your physician how many times he has performed the same procedure, and ask everything from benefits to potential risks. Remember that what is at stake here is not just how good your eyes look but also how well they will function later on. Laser cosmetic eye surgery has a lot to offer and to better understand it means healthier and more beautiful eyes.

Formal Eye Makeup Tips To Live By

Formal eye makeup tips , to achieve the desired, finished look...Pick A Feature,Pick A Look,For bridal makeup, consider more natural and soft tones. ..

Formal Eye Makeup Tips To Live By

Formal eye makeup tips will allow you to look glamorous no matter if you are heading out for the biggest night of your life or if you are just hanging out with friends.

To look glamorous, you need to know just how to apply makeup correctly, to achieve the desired, finished look. Learning how to put on eye makeup does not have to be a difficult process either.

Here are several key steps to make your wedding or prom pictures truly amazing.

Pick A Look

Your first course of action is to pick a celebrity or look that you are after to mimic. Eye makeup ideas are hard to come up with on your own, but there are plenty of models out there for you to mimic. This is an eye makeup trick; mimic someone else’s look. How will you know who to select? Choose someone that has the same skin tone and hair color as you. Check out what makeup products they are using too.

Pick A Feature

A huge mistake that many people make when it comes to formal make up is that they try to make each of their facial features a focal point. Choose either your eyes or your lips and then apply makeup to enhance that features. The makeup you use in the other area should be more subtle. Select the area of your face that is where you get the most compliments.

No Foundation?

Another formal eye make up trick is to skip the foundation but to use a concealer for blemishes.

How does this affect your eye makeup?

First off, those that are young are likely to have beautiful, glowing skin with no need for heavy foundations. For your eye makeup, allowing your natural skin tones to come through will allow your eyes to be more set off from the rest of your face. Less makeup everywhere else helps your eyes to stand out.

For bridal makeup, consider more natural and soft tones. The white of a wedding dress makes your skin darker looking. Less is more here. For proms and a night out on the town, look to more drastic and deep color combinations in your eye makeup. Do this to create an alluring look with your eyes.

Formal eye makeup tips like these can be easy to apply any day or night that you are planning out. You can get amazing eye makeup ideas from celebrities by paging through the web or watching Red Carpet footage. The bottom line is to find an amazing look that allows only your eyes to stand out. Eye makeup techniques like these are easy to learn. Practice makes perfect! For a formal look, enhance your eyes.

Choosing An Eye Shadow Color

Choosing the best eyeshadow color for your eyes ,choosing the best eyeshadow colors for blue eyes are probably the trickiest. ..The best eyeshadow color for green eyes and the best eyeshadow color for brown eyes..

Choosing An Eye Shadow Color

Taking The Mystery Out Of Choosing An Eye Shadow Color

Choosing the best eyeshadow color for your eyes can be difficult. Many women have no idea which eyeshadow colors go best with their eyecolor.

I get asked all the time “what’s the right eyeshadow color for me?” The best eyeshadow color for you depends on your skin tone as well as your eye color, but there are some general rules when determining how to choose an eyeshadow color.

People with brown eyes have the easiest time picking out eyeshadow colors. There is no “best” eyeshadow for brown eyes. Those of you with brown eyes can generally wear any eyeshadow color. If you have brown eyes you can get away with light or dark eyeshadow colors.

I think choosing the best eyeshadow colors for blue eyes are probably the trickiest. People with blue eyes should never wear any type of blue eyeshadow color. Wearing blue eyeshadow will make blue eyes look washed out. People with blue eyes can wear browns and even violets depending on their haircolor. These colors tend to be the best eyeshadow colors for grey eyes too.

I think that people with green or hazel eyes are probably the most limited in eyeshadow color choices. The best eyeshadow color for green eyes and the best eyeshadow color for brown eyes is really those eyeshadow colors in the brown family. People with green eyes and hazel eyes tend to have a skin coloration that does not allow them to wear lighter or pastel colors.

Hair color plays a similar role in choosing the right eyeshadow color. I find that people with lighter colored hair look best in eyeshadow colors in the brown color family. I think that people with darker hair can wear darker eyeshadow colors and also a wider variety of colors.

Probably the most important hint I can give you is that you will want to provide a fair amount of contrast between your eye color and/or your hair color and your eyeshadow. Don’t match your shadow to your eyes or your hair color. You want your face to have an interesting color combination, not a washed out and colorless look.

Choosing eyeshadow color is no real mystery. The eyeshadow colors that tend to be in style can vary. Choosing eyeshadow color that works best for you is far more important than keeping up with the latest trend. Being stylish means nothing if the trend looks bad on you.

When choosing eyeshadow color, remember to pick a color that compliments your eye color not one that matches it. When in doubt, stick with colors in the brown family. And always shop at a store that lets you return colors you don’t like. You don’t want to get stuck with a drawer full of colors that aren’t right for you. And you don’t want to spend your money on colors you end up giving away.

Dramatic Eye Shadow

Dramatic Eye Shadow

How to Make Dramatic Eye Shadow Work For You

Dramatic eye shadow is the latest trend in makeup. However, applying dramatic make up can be hard to do without looking clownish.

Professional make up artists warn clients against using too much dramatic makeup at the same time.

Dramatic eyeshadow makeup is not hard to apply if you remember a few basic rules. I can’t emphasize enough that balancing your make up is important to keep from looking too heavily made up. And I suggest that you save the dramatic eye shadow
techniques for nighttime wear as it can look too heavy for daytime.

I like to work with dramatic purple eyeshadow. My eyes are blue, so I can get away with this color. I suggest that you follow the basic rules on how to put on eyeshadow and then enhance your techniques in order to get a dramatic eye.

You should put on your dramatic make up in much the same way as your daytime makeup. The only real difference is that you will be using darker colors for dramatic makeup. There are a few differences in technique and I’ll discuss those with you.

Dramatic eyeshadow not only means darker, but it can also be sparkly or shiny. I like to use a glittery eyeshadow in a darker color for a dramatic eye makeup effect. You will need the same type of three-color selection for dramatic eye shadow that you had for your daytime look, only darker.

I suggest using a more pronounced brow bone highlighter color for dramatic eyeshadow than daytime eyeshadow. Also, I like to use the darker color across the lid as well as in the crease. To give a great touch to your dramatic eyeshadow, be sure to give the eyes a professional touch with some sort of eyeliner.

After you have applied your eyeshadow, use either the darkest color in the palette or eyeliner to line your eyes. This will give your eyes the ultimate dramatic effect and will look the most professional. I suggest using an angled brow brush or an eyeliner brush to apply the darkest eyeshadow color.

To apply dramatic eyeshadow eyeliner, I want you to use a wet brush. After you get your brush wet, dip it in the darkest color in your palette. Line your upper eyelid with this color. Don’t be afraid to be bold.

Using a softer brush, I want you to apply the darkest eyeshadow color to smudge under your eyes. Always remember that you can go bold on top, but you should smudge color on the bottom. Some people can apply a dramatic eyeshadow look completely around their eyes, but most can’t. I suggest that you experiment with colors and effects to see what’s right for you.

If you choose to use eyeliner to line your eyes, remember to use a sponge smudge applicator to smudge the liner on the lower eyelid. If you like, it’s fun to smudge the top also for a total smoky eye effect.

How To Put On Eyeshadow

How To Put On Eyeshadow

Learn How To Put On Eyeshadow
How to apply eyeshadow properly?

I believe that the best way to put on eyeshadow is with a brush, not a sponge applicator. Different kinds of brushes have different effects. I want to take a few minutes to discuss a few different tips on applying eyeshadow.

Putting on eye shadow is difficult for many people. Learning to put on eyeshadow is something most of us try as teenagers. However, many people never master eyeshadow application. I will give you a few of the steps for applying eyeshadow.

To get a feel for the shape of your eyes, close one eye as you look in the mirror. Look for the area of your eyelid that is just above your eyeball. This is where you want to concentrate the darkest part of your eyeshadow make up. This is called the crease.

The area just under your eyebrow is called your browbone. Many people make the mistake of applying the wrong color eyeshadow to this area. The browbone should be highlighted by eyeshadow makeup. Do not apply dark colors to the browbone area.

The trick to applying eyeshadow is to remember that you want to make the crease recede and the browbone stand out. This type of eye shadow application is what defines the eye without making it look like you have put on too much eye makeup.

To properly apply eyeshadow, first choose your shades. For those of you who have trouble matching shades, buy a kit that has the colors already coordinated for you. Start with neutral colors like browns that look good on most everyone. Once you get the hang of using color, you can branch out to other combinations.

There are usually three colors in the eyeshadow kit. I want you to take a standard eyeshadow brush and get a bit of the powdered eyeshadow on it. Lightly brush some of the lightest color just under the eyebrow on the brow bone. Don’t apply this eyeshadow too heavily; just a light coating. This is a highlighting process.

Next, I want you to take a similar brush and put some of the medium color on it. Don’t use the same brush you used for your highlight color because then the next time you use it your highlighter color will be too dark. Brush the medium color directly on your eyelid. Be sure to cover the entire eyelid up to the crease.

Finally, I want you to take a crease brush and swish it in the darkest color. I want you to brush this color in an arc along the full length of the crease. Be sure to blend this color well so that your eyeshadow makeup doesn’t have any definite stripes. Some people like to do this with their eyes open and others with their eyes closed. Personally, I like to apply my crease color with my eyes open so that I know where it’s going.

Eyeshadow application can be tricky for many people. Ultimately, it is important to remember that the way you put on your eyeshadow is a personal preference. I can give you several techniques for applying eyeshadow, but you will need to experiment with putting on eyeshadow to make sure that you have become comfortable with the method you use.

Cosmetic Mascara; Achieving a Long, Natural Look.

Cosmetic mascara is used to make the eyelashes look thicker and darker. It is available in neutral shades such as black, dark brown, and dark gray and it is also available in navy, blue, clear and a host of other fad colors.

Most women prefer black mascara because it is a basic neutral color and it works well on almost everyone for most occasions. You can try a shade of brown if you're blonde.

And if every shade you try seems too dark for you, you might benefit from clear cosmetic mascara, which, still lifts and separates the lashes.

Waterproof or Regular?! Black or Brown?!...

There are two basic types of cosmetic mascara: waterproof mascara and regular. Regular mascara is easier to remove at the end of the day but to remove waterproof, you need an eye make up remover.

Discard mascara within four months of use since bacteria contaminates it and, it also dries out and clumps up. Make sure you apply it when you are stationary (not in moving vehicles) to avoid eye injury.

First Step...Curling Your Lashes!...

eyelash curler

Before applying cosmetic mascara, you may want to curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, especially if your eyelashes are straight. To use an eyelash curler: open the curler, place your upper lashes between the two troughs, close the curler slowly, and hold them in the curled position for 10-20 seconds.

Do not press too hard, it could create a kink in the middle of the lashes. Open up the curlers fully before pulling them away from your eye. Do not curl your lower lashes. Curling your eyelashes will immediately open up the eyes and make them look bigger.

Applying Clumpless Cosmetic Mascara...

mascara wand

Sometimes the wax in the cosmetic mascara crystallizes and clumps up which keeps it from going on smoothly. To avoid the clumps during application, use a thin short wand to get into the corner lashes and always wipe the wand lightly with a tissue before you apply it.

You may apply more than one coat if you want but always allow the first coat to dry before applying the second. You can also apply it on the bottom lashes or not depending on the effect you are trying to achieve. Always take it into the inner corners of the top lashes.

Cosmetic Mascara

1. Hold a magnifying mirror slightly above your face and position the cosmetic mascara wand vertically straight in front of you. Lightly stroke down the bottom lashes, moving from the inner to the outer corner of the eye. Wipe off any excess on a tissue.

2. Lift your chin while looking down, then, starting in the middle of the upper eyelash, apply cosmetic mascara in upward parallel strokes through your top lashes from below the upper lashes combing them upwards, and working your way out to the edges.
eyelash comb

3. Apply a couple coats to the edges. Try blinking on the brush.

4. Look slightly down into the mirror, brush the wand from the root to the end of the uppermost top lashes. Then work diagonally from beneath and, after that, with a straight movement.

5. Use an eyelash comb or a second wand to brush through stuck eyelashes or clumps of cosmetic mascara.

Eye Shadow Tips to Enhance Your Eyelid Shape

These eye shadow tips will help you figure out the shape of your eyelid so your eye make up application can enhance your natural beauty. The shape of your eyes and eyelids determine which part of the eye area you need to shade or highlight.

Something that everyone can do regardless of eyelid shape is to apply high lighter to the brow bone (above the eyelid and below the eyebrow). Now, the amount of visible eyelid will determine if you need to highlight your eyelid or apply eye shadow to shade it.

If you are not sure about your eyelid size, go to the nearest mirror and take a good look at it. Is it puffy or just right?! Make sure you are looking at yourself squarely and not at an angle. Then come back and compare with the pictures below

Applying Dramatic Eye Shadow Tips to Shade and Highlight...

Prominent Eyelid

Eye shadow tips - Prominent Eyelid

If you have this eyelid you want to make the eyelid look smaller and thinner. So shade the eyelid and the crease of the eye and highlight only below the eyebrow, not the eyelid.

Hooded Eyelid

Eye shadow tips - Hooded Eyelid

With this type you want to make it look like there is more eye lid. Apply high lighter on the eyelid to make it look larger. Shade the crease of the eye only and spread the eyeshadow outwards to join the corners of the eye.

Deep Set Eyes

Eye shadow tips - Deed Set Eyes

This is the most versatile shape because you can either apply eye shadow tips to highlight or shade the eyelid (of course, you don't want to do both at the same time ;-). Make sure you shade the crease of the eye and apply high lighter just under the eyebrow.

You can use eye shadow tips to apply brown, smokey, green or blue shades for any of the above lid shapes depending on which is complementary to you.

How to Apply Eye Liner to Define Your Eyes

How to apply eye liner using a few simple techniques can dramatically affect the look and shape of your eyes. You can use an eye pencil instead of eye liner to create the same effect.

How to Apply Eye Liner to Change the Way Your Eyes Look...

The purpose of eyeliner is to frame and define the contour of your eyes in order to draw attention to them.

Many experienced make-up artists, who know how to apply eye liner, like to use eye shadow instead of eyeliner pencil to subtly line the eyes, creating a natural-looking effect.

Pencils used for lining eyes should be soft and smudgy, so they do not drag the skin around the eye during application.

MORE ROUND
eye liner

Use eyeliner to outline the contour of your eyes at the base of the eyelashes and continue toward the outer corner, thicken and "wing" the line upward.

MORE OVAL
eyeliner

Most experts on how to apply eye liner suggest to start a fine line at the base of your eye lid, thicken it in the middle, and draw it toward the outer corner of your eyes.

CLOSE TOGETHER
eyeliner

Use eyeliner to draw a tappered line starting thick on the inner corner of your eye and narrowing through to the outer corner of the eye.

FARTHER APART
eyeliner

Apply eyeliner and start the line away from the inner corner of your eye thickening toward the outer edge and extend it slightly upward.

LARGER
eyeliner

Trace a fine line of eye liner around the contour of your eye and also draw a fine line at the base of the upper and lower lashes for more definition.

Liquid Eyeliner, Mascara Applicator:
Tips To Make It Easier

Do you use liquid eyeliner?
Mascara applicator got you completely confused?

It is hard to keep your liquid applicators working for you and not against you. There are a number of individuals that just can not seem to hold their hand steady enough or, they may just not be able to control the liquid coming out. The end result is nothing short of a mess. Yet, to help you, there are a number of simple things that you can do to find a solution to this problem once and for all.

Eyeliner And Mascara Eyes

Those that use eyeliner and mascara often have beautiful eyes. These products are designed to provide beautiful color and depth and are supposed to be easier to apply. They should even last longer for you and give a much more dramatic look to your eye than standard pencil eyeliner would. Yet, it just is not that easy.

Applying Liquid Eyeliner

There are a number of great tips that you can take into consideration when it comes to liquid eyeliner. Mascara applicators follow the same rules.

* Purchase a point liner brush. This has a very small and yet very precise brush to it. You need a tool that will provide that fine line. One that does not have a point will leave you with messy looking, smudge eye makeup instead.

* Keep the eyes open when liquid eyeliner applying. It takes a bit more of a steady hand then a pencil would, so you need to keep your eyes open so that you can see where you are going with the pencil. This will allow a straight line and one that is not bumpy or heavy in one place or the other. Follow your eyelash line.

* Choosing the right liquid eyeliner is essential. You will want to look for a color that is similar to the eyelash color. If you plan to apply eye shadow with it, choose a color that is more natural looking or even warmer. This will create an overall warm look for the eyes.

Which Is The Best Liquid Eyeliner? There are several things to consider when choosing liquid eyeliner/mascara. Applicator style is the most important. You also want a liquid that is smooth, nothing that is sloppy or too thick. Keep your applicator cleaned so that there are no clumps when you are applying the liner. What’s more, you should always select the best quality product rather than the highest costing name brand. Remember that practice is what makes this application perfect.
